Kathy's 60th birthday

We had tons of fun celebrating Kathy's 60th birthday on Sunday. The park by Leah and Andrew's house was hosting a picnic so we headed over there for some outdoor fun. Zoe and Zachary are just too cute together! They loved running around and saying hello to the walking potty. Tons of hot dogs, snow cones, watermelon and music were enjoyed by everyone. Then we went back for the most beautiful birthday cake ever!

Mile High Music

Melanie, Alyssa and I had so much fun at the Mile High music festival! Jessica was there, too! We saw tons of great music and shook our booties in the 100+ degree heat. Michael Franti and Spearhead was definitely the highlight for me. We saw killer sunsets, drank lots of ice cold lemonade, and even bought matching t-shirts!

Kindergarten Kids!

My first day with my new class was Thursday. It was quite the eye-opening experience. Soooo different from 2nd grade! But the 2nd day was much better and here we are - the other woman with me is Paula - she is an interpreter who signs for a deaf student in my class. The kids are adorable and after day 2 I can tell it'll be a great year! (After the first day I wasn't so sure... )

4th of July fun

For the 4th, Alice, Bruce, Daniel and I went to the city of Aurora's fireworks show. We didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be great - lots of room to sit, yummy picnic, a band, an orchestra, and a really pretty fireworks show. Daniel was taking tons of pictures of the fireworks!

Musical Memories

Sondra and I went to see the Indigo Girls on Father's Day. It was a great show - they played almost all of my favorite songs! I even snuck to the back to dance a bunch of times... why is it that no one stands up at these shows? Mind-boggling.

Daniel and I went to see Braddigan (one of the members from Dispatch) at an interesting venue. It was the rooftop of the Denver Athletic Club, where apparently Braddigan is a member. It seemed more like a cocktail hour than a concert to us, but we enjoyed the music and the incredible sky before and after a little rainstorm.

Goodbye, 2nd grade!

Crazy that my time teaching 2nd grade is over for now. We had a fun last day of school... the kids all brought in games and of course I played some Clue! I start unpacking my kindergarten room tomorrow - so exciting! Pictures of that to come...

Birth project

Daniel and I had to create a project for our childbirth class. The directions were to do something to show what birth means to us. Pretty broad! We combined Daniel's computer skills and my scrapbooking to make this. The plan is to hang it in the baby's room!

Girls Night

I love taking pictures at girls night - and need to do it more often! We had a fun time on Thursday enjoying Jill's patio, some GUS (Grown Up Soda) and birthday celebrating. I'm so lucky to have this amazing group of girls!

Birthday Blogging

Last night we went to dinner at this tasty Italian place. Daniel surprised me by ordering a tableside bananas foster for dessert - yum!! Two other tables ordered it after watching our waiter prepare ours. Happy birthday to me!
