Cruise and Catch-up!

Here is a long slideshow starting with Thanksgiving and going all the way through this past weekend! There are lots of cruise pictures and the captions pretty much say it all! Enjoy :)
After the slideshow there's a little video of Jonah showing off a new trick.

Fall Fun

Time flies when you're crazy busy... so here I am finally updating the blog after 2 months!
So, Jonah turned 2 on September 18th and by the end of the month he was very into throwing tantrums... hmmm... coincidence? Not sure. We are loving him to pieces all the time, but especially when he is not having a fit!! He has been talking up a storm, and his mispronunciations are hysterical and so cute. Pinecorn = pinecone; Where Daddy are? = Where is Daddy?; Aminals = animals... you get the idea. Life for me is super busy between working full time and all of these classes I'm taking at school. Never a second to breathe! Daniel is really enjoying his business and is working so hard! Enjoy the slideshows - there are 2 as the second one is a bunch of our favorites from a photo shoot we did with Kelley, a friend of Andrew and Leah's. If you live near here and want some awesome pictures (like this one above) - she is so reasonable and was GREAT with Jonah.
In the first slideshow, you'll see a few pics from Jonah's 2nd birthday, a trip to the zoo (we can't get enough!), a fall fun-day at Nick's Garden Center, the circus, 2 awesome concerts, and Halloween - starting with "Monster Mash" at my school where Jonah loved being around all of the big kids, then the annual scavenger hunt that D' and Amy create even better each year, and Jonah's first time trick-or-treating! Enjoy!

So Much Going On!

First let me apologize for the annoying ad on the bottom of the slideshow. Just "x" it out and I will try my best to figure out how to do slideshows another way for the next one!
There has been a lot going on here - and I haven't posted anything in 2 months... perhaps a record.
So to sum it all up, here are a bunch of our favorite pictures from our favorite activities. We enjoyed a few concerts at Red Rocks: Rob visited for String Cheese and we had a great time both nights other than the flat tire on the way to the first show! There was a lot of talk of Triple A and strategizing before Rob and Daniel stepped up to the plate and changed it themselves!
The very next weekend Alyssa came to visit and we went to see Michael Franti at Red Rocks - an awesome show - but the night before we went to dinner and Alyssa took a bite of my meal which unknowingly had peanuts in it! One trip to the ER later and all was good... whew!
Our next visitors were my parents and we got to do a few fun things around town among the house repairs my dad was helping with. Busy 10 days with my parents and their dog Angel in the house! Gus didn't tolerate another dog here very well, and he had surgery to remove a small tumor which made him a bit more grumpy than usual. He is fine now! Stitches out and back to himself.
Now Daniel's parents are visiting and we were able to get to Steamboat for a few days while they watched Jonah. Soooooo nice! The ride up there is gorgeous and we had a blast just relaxing by the pool at our hotel and going out for dinners. We took a hike by Fish Creek Falls and had so much fun climbing on all of the rocks leading up to the waterfall. It was a great way to spend the day. Navigating some spots were tricky but we managed with the help of a nice stranger!
Now Ken and Jayme are here as well and we had a really nice Rosh Hashana dinner last night with all of the cousins. Below the slideshow, check out a quick video of Jonah's dance moves. He cracks us up!
More to come soon -- birthday countdown: 8 days!

Summertime!

We have been busy! June flew by with the end of the school year, and now I'm back to school with a new class. Whirlwind!
Jonah came with Melanie and me on 2 different hikes. The first, Garden of the Gods, was a great attempt - a stop at Dunkin' Donuts makes everything great (especially since we had to drive an hour to get there!) but the hot sun and me being sick was a bad combo so we wound up calling it quits early. The next attempt was better... but only on the way down the trail. I think Jonah needs some more hiking practice on short, flat trails for now!
Jonah stayed home with Daniel while I went to Breckenridge for the weekend with my fantastic girl friends... it was a great couple of days complete with lots of wine, talks, a birthday celebration for me and a stop on the way home to get our noses pierced!
The week of my birthday was nonstop fun! So much to do, so little time :)
Enjoy some random pics as well, and a few shots from Jonah's most recent tumbling class.

Our trip to the East

Here is a slideshow of our trip to New Jersey and New York. We got some good family time in and even got to see some friends! Jonah did really well with traveling other than sleeping at night. But, luckily he was back to his usual routine as soon as we got home. Things are going well other than Jonah being really sick for the first time this weekend. He has been laying around on the couch for more than a day now, comforted only by Abby (pacifier) and Blue Dog. He even got to watch TV for the first time, but we could still barely get him to crack a smile. Poor sweet boy!

Time is flying!

I know this is incredibly disappointing to everyone, but I have decided to stop the scrapblogging. Dry your eyes. I had a lot of problems getting the book printed up and it just wasn't worth it. I'm back to traditional scrapbooking for now! But I wanted to catch up with some pictures from the last couple of months since I haven't posted on the blog in awhile. Jonah is growing up so quickly. The other day I made a list of everything he is saying and so far we're up to 16 words! That really sounds like a lot to me. The best is when Daniel or I say "I love you" and he says "luh-loo" back. It's so cute! He is usually a pretty happy little guy... loves to climb and go and do, and he is in a bit of a daddy phase right now. As in, all he wants is Daniel, but he calls Daniel "mommy".... go figure. I'm a little insulted but trying to get over it. Enjoy the photos... more to come soon as we leave tomorrow for our trip to NJ/NY!

Six Scrapblogs!

We have been busy - and I finally got around to doing something with all of our pictures. Enjoy these scrapblogs and slideshow of life the past couple of months - Valentine's Day, a visit from my sister, a trip to Florida to stay with my grandpa - my parents met us down there, and Jess even came down for a short visit so we could see the Indigo Girls and have some time to catch up on the beach.

Random Updates

Here is a slideshow with a few shots of Jonah from our last visit with Grandma Alice and Grandpa Bruce a few weeks ago. We went to a pretty random place called "Funtastic Fun" and it was probably in its prime about 15 years ago. We also had a little get-together with the Baron clan in the party room. The video is of Jonah's first word "hell-00000?" which he says when holding a phone, ipod, remote control, or food items(!) and fun with Gus. Since I took those videos a few weeks ago, Jonah has been saying a few more words. He loves saying the words dog, daddy, Jackie (the name of the woman who watches him while I'm working,) bye, moo, and night-night. "Mommy" makes an appearance very infrequently. Sad! He often imitates something random that we say. So exciting! Jonah has also been way more into reading books FINALLY and he points to the objects in the pictures. He knows the parts of his body and LOVES to put things away. We have been going to a weekly music class that he is starting to like a lot more... and he is trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to get Gus to like him! More to come soon.

Road Trip!

Melanie, Jonah and I went on a fun adventure road trip to Lake Havasu over Christmas. Jonah was a trooper, and we did the trip in 2 days each way. On our way out there, we stopped in Alburquerque and went out for authentic Mexican food with Silas's brother Sam and his wife Nadine. Jonah enjoyed dinner until he got a taste of a jalepeno pepper in the guac! He let out the loudest scream I have ever heard!
Our time in Havasu was very relaxing. We enjoyed the down time and got to hike one day - good thing we left Jonah with my parents because we weren't really prepared for the dry waterfall drop and I had to spiderman-rock-climb to get out! It was pretty insane! Other than that, our time in Havasu was pretty low key... and my parents loved having us... well, Jonah mostly! :)
They got to hang out with him overnight while Mel and I went to Las Vegas. I had never been there before so you'll have to bear with the tons of pictures below!
The ride back was much more scenic....Enjoy the scrapblogs and slideshow!

Happy Hanukkah!

Here are a few Hanukkah pictures from this year. Jonah loved looking at the glow of the candles and enjoyed dancing around while we sang Hanukkah songs. Such fun! We had our annual cousins party at Sondra's condo in the mountains this year. The kids (and adults) all enjoyed giving and receiving gifts! Jonah got lots of fun new toys. My first time making lots of latkes was a success!
Daniel and I took Jonah to a Hanukkah party through Judaism Your Way, where we had a sing-a-long, yummy snacks, and listened to "storah-telling."
I also went to a holiday party with my girl friends - lots and lots of fun as always!
Enjoy the slide show... road trip pictures are coming up!
